Summary
InvertiGro is situated in Rosebery Sydney NSW in a typical warehouse office space complex over two (2) floors. They required air conditioning across the two floors for 460 square metres.
Challenge
With their air conditioning having failed, InvertiGro approached their landlord Lyneton Surveyors for new air conditioning. Lyneton approached OGS to look at new Solar ACDC Air Conditioning. Their requirement was for 56kWhr to cover two floors.
10 HOUR USAGE*: 8:30am – 5:30pm
Over a 10-hour period the monitored unit used 2.11 kWh of grid electricity.
Based off AS3598:2014 Energy Auditing calculations this system runs 80% + more efficient than a similar type conventional system.
24 HOUR CYCLE*
Over a 24-hour period the monitored unit used 10.51 kWh of grid electricity.
Based off AS3598:2014 Energy Auditing calculations this system runs 45% + more efficient than a similar type conventional system.
*SIMILAR TYPE OF 7KW DUCTED (KWHR/COP*60% Duty Cycle) HITACHI E70YHA
Comparing the two buildings, the Solar ACDC Units offered a 28% energy difference per SqM2. With more sun hours in summer it's expected that the energy position will improve. Note: Location B. used 84kWh on the 22nd of December 2017
Results
Using 23.68kW of solar panels to run the 56kW of air conditioning this process of heating and cooling has had a significant impact on energy use but more importantly it has reduced the peak demand by over 53%.
Over their life it is estimated the Solar ACDC Ducted systems it is will reduce green house emissions by 267 Tonnes and save the customer 288 megawatts of power.
